Snapshots of Community Members

Introduction

We are delighted to introduce you to some community members who were willing to be interviewed and share with our learners’ snapshots into their lives. They are each unique with different capabilities, interests, and living situations. In many ways, they each offer windows into what is possible when the right equipment, environmental modifications, economic resources and support people are in place. You will likely encounter people with disabilities who do not have all these opportunities and resources. But that is where knowledgeable and dedicated clinicians can make a big difference. It may require advocating for them to get the right equipment, or support people through Medicaid waiver programs, Section 8 vouchers and accessible housing, entitlements to open up possibilities for the lives of all.
